W14. What did I learn in this course? Kim Byung Chan

1. Summary

I took a lecture on 'Collective Intelligence' this semester. As learned in class, Collective intelligence is the collective ability that many people have gained through co-operation or competition. In addition to 'collective intelligence' lectures, many lectures require 'team play'. This team play allows us to exercise collective intelligence. In 'collective intelligence', Wikipedia was taken as an example of collective intelligence.
Wikipedia is an encyclopedia available in real time around the world If people have an environment where people can use the internet. This Wikipedia is complete with addition and modification of people. We have created ID, created new articles and modified them to participate in this collective intelligence. In this process, we adapted to the Wikipedia interface. I learned techniques such as adding hyperlinks, adding site links, and using copyrighted photos only. The ability to write was also upgraded naturally.
I was interested in new fields that I was not interested in, and I was able to get information at the same time. I am also accustomed to the process of verifying that this information is fact-based. Because Wikipedia is used by people around the world as a dictionary, it needs to be based on facts. I also learned to try to keep this process.

2.interesting point

It was strange that there is very little information in Korean Wikipedia. While English Wikipedia has much information about Korea, Korean Wikipedia has little information about other languages. In Korea, the Internet has developed much more than other countries. So Korea has various portal sites such as Naver, Daum and Namu Wiki, which serve as encyclopedias on behalf of Wikipedia.

3.Discussing

As mentioned above, many Korean portal sites take the place of Wikipedia. However, I think that sharing a lot of information with Wikipedia will be a great help in informing Korean culture. What do other people think?
