W.11 Discuss Reagle’s chapter 5 - HanBin Bae
1.Summury
Trust and collaboration are considered more important than any other ability. These days, it is very busy to live alone in the age of selfishness. Have a lot of personal action But there is a limit to personal solutions. So it is important to cooperate. And just as trust between people is really important, so is trust of each other in the online community. The Wikipedia community has an excellent function in terms of cooperation and trust. Wikipedia has the power to break down and solve many conflicts. It has become a worldwide organization for adaptation and coordination. And an interesting example of community decision-making. An agreement seems to be an appropriate tool for making decisions in a society of equal values and a good culture of faith. Furthermore, this form of decision-making has been at the center of online collaboration since the Internet began.
However, it is not theoretically easy. It would be Wikipedia to solve that.
2.Interesting Point
Man is the smartest creature. Of course there is the ability to solve difficult matters. However, machines are not as good as humans, but they are developing. In many conscious communities, the facilitator does a lot of work. The need for expression and opposition to these statements plays a central role in defining an agreement. The International Internet Technology Council recommends that the head of the Working Group understand the position of the agreement clearly and ask for feedback when he thinks there is an agreement. Wikipedia had a lot of trials. He survived with unique strengths.
3.Discussion
The decision agreed in the debate is final. But the proposed alternatives should also be addressed. Without proper control, no conclusion can be drawn. Here's an amazing thing. There was no mention of how this conclusion could come about and there was a danger to Wikipedia because the decision was not satisfactory. But it remained firm. How did Wikipedia survive this crisis? I think there are many reasons. Share that idea with me.
I read your article well. I also have questions about Wikipedia's final results. Because objectivity is not created by majority rule. A person can not always be right. The majority rule is important, but I think we should not believe it.
