W11 blog topic: Discuss Reagle’s chapter 5 - MinSeung Sung 2016062706

The contents of this week were about reliability in human intelligence. In modern society the machine and software are prevalent and the human intelligence is easy to be pass unnoticed. The confrontation between human and the Alphago is the example.
However, the Wikipedia is in another level. This is because Wikipedia makes a balance between computer technology and human intelligence. In the community, anonymous people work together and exchange their information based on the Internet.
Also, in this process, they make modification over and over by discussion. In this system, the information becomes more sophisticated and advanced. In this context, there is no doubt that Wikipedia is an interesting example. In another point of view, Wikipedia is the result of party's discussion. The reason can be found in the discussion section.
I think it is impossible to make an objective information. In context, the word for explain also have meanings.
What I am interesting about is the next context. I wonder what the dictator means in Wikipedia. It was the unprecedented community that such weighted in openness not only in the past but also in the future in my opinion. For this reason, I wonder how can dictator can have their meaning.

    I just agree with you. When people write, subjective ideas often enter sentences. No matter how objective he tries to write, he writes sustainably. The information was conveyed by someone and the information could also contain subjective ideas. Therefore, I do not think there can be anything completely objective.

W5. Can we trust Wikipedia? Yun-Jin Kim

Then I want to ask. Can we trust News? I think Wikipedia is based on sources. Every time we edit on Wikipedia we need the sources. If we don’t put sources, the information we wrote would be deleted.   So I think asking ‘How can we trust Wikipedia’ is kind of similar to ‘How can we trust News’. I know there could be subjective opinion on Wikipedia. If the topic is unpopular, the public opinion doesn’t focus, there’s could be no feedback and that makes Wiki subjective. for this reason, we have to think before we choose the topic in Wiki. If the topic isn’t famous enough and have no sources, we should think this information isn’t sure enough. but if the topic has clear sources we can have a trust on that information. I think it is not important to ask, ‘is the Wikipedia trustful’. It is important to ask ‘is this information on Wikipedia has a exact source?’.
