W10. What would make writing on Wikipedia easier for me? -Tae Joon YOO

Wikipedia is building its reputation as an open dictionary that is available to everyone. However, this can also cause problems. Wikipedia's openness has allowed not only administrators but also everyone without an account to participate in editing. This also causes problems for the credibility of Wikipedia articles. There has been a message that my writing is unreliable. This is because the exact source was not used. Reliability can be achieved by using the correct sources. Whoever wrote the article with a clear basis can be trusted.

But when I was editing on Wikipedia, I received a warning message, even though I used the source. I thought about why. Even if you use sources, it is important if they are trusted Internet sites. No matter how many sources have been used, if the site is unreliable (e.g. namu wiki, Naver, community site DC inside, cafee, blog), the source can not be used. When I was editing Wikipedia to solve this problem, I decided to collect and refer to sites that were trustworthy. I could see a summary of the most Wikipedia source sites.

Statistics from the website are used to organize the America's top sources. The first site is books.google.com and the second is web.archive.org, and the third is ., etc. This foreign language can also be seen as youtube in the fourth category, which might have been used for information rather than as the source for YouTube.

    I did not know if there was a top50 source. Thank you for introducing this. However, if there are many sources for other countries besides English, it would be better to use it all over the world. There are also times when I cite the contents of other countries, and I hope there are some sites that can solve the problem more easily.

W5. Can we trust Wikipedia? Yun-Jin Kim

Then I want to ask. Can we trust News? I think Wikipedia is based on sources. Every time we edit on Wikipedia we need the sources. If we don’t put sources, the information we wrote would be deleted.   So I think asking ‘How can we trust Wikipedia’ is kind of similar to ‘How can we trust News’. I know there could be subjective opinion on Wikipedia. If the topic is unpopular, the public opinion doesn’t focus, there’s could be no feedback and that makes Wiki subjective. for this reason, we have to think before we choose the topic in Wiki. If the topic isn’t famous enough and have no sources, we should think this information isn’t sure enough. but if the topic has clear sources we can have a trust on that information. I think it is not important to ask, ‘is the Wikipedia trustful’. It is important to ask ‘is this information on Wikipedia has a exact source?’.
