Extra posting : What makes information reliable?

I have been thinking about the experience of citing information from Wikipedia in the past. I cited Wikipedia information for the assignment. There are many reasons why I could trust the information.

The first is the website itself is highly reliable for people. Wikipedia is not just a professional person, but a variety of people to modify information. Reliability may be low, but the amount and quality of information will be high because information is continually updated. And as many students use Wikipedia's information a lot, they become a priority in search engines. If the site is dead and not active, people will not participate in the information modification. If we show activity, people will happily edit and quote information. There is still a question as to whether Wikipedia is reliable. However, I think it is highly reliable because of the active participation of many people and constant update.

The second is the accuracy of the source. When people edit information, write down the site or address they quoted. People bring sources such as books, papers, magazines, newspapers, scholarly claims, etc. about information. Non-critical people quote sources as well as information. This is dangerous behavior. There is always the possibility of being provoked by false information. People should observe in detail the date of the source, the relevant links, the information provider, and so on. Otherwise, we can quote the source of the old information, and eventually we can pass the wrong information to the people. So if we cite an exact source, people will find it first when they get the information that they need later.

Finally, you should not misspell the information to make it trustable. If the spelling is wrong, people think that something is rudimentary. In addition, people doubt that this article can be quoted. Spelling is most basic when you post or share information. In fact, spelling mistakes on Facebook, Twitter, and KakaoTalk are not a big problem. However, spelling errors in news, articles, or books confuse people. And people will have skepticism about the source because of the spelling error experience.
