I think Wikipedia is a place where people can communicate with people all over the world today. It is a space where various languages exist, but it edits various information. Based on objective data, the individual becomes an expert on the information. Various people get information and interesting points that they did not know through Wikipedia. And it is helpful for study or assignment. People compare the information published on Wikipedia with the knowledge they know.

Wikipedia is also free of time and space constraints. This system is convenient because it can be modified immediately. We can freely publish the information you know where and when. In other words, the advantage of Wikipedia is that it has the best conditions for busy modern people to use. People are probably using Wikipedia for these attractions.

Many people around the world edit information on Wikipedia. Right now, I am editing 20 pieces of information every week. People fill in the missing information or create empty information. People want to share their knowledge with people by writing objective information that they know. In some ways, they can post them to show off your knowledge. they can also upload information to show off their major or school. But the important thing is that Wikipedia is the most important place of collective intelligence. You do not need to be an expert to edit Wikipedia. As I said above, there is no time and space constraint. Accessibility is also very good. Google, Naver, etc., Wikipedia is the first link. And subscription constraints are less complex than other sites. Thanks to these advantages, people often use Wikipedia.

I want to think about some things with students. Korean students are too obsessed with Wikipedia. Some people trust information on Wikipedia very much. In other words, there is strong attitude of accepting uncritically. In other words, we can omit the source of information when looking for a concept or definition. Also, copying is very common. It is therefore very important to identify the source. And we should know that Wikipedia is not the perfect encyclopedia.

  1. You point out an interesting point. Despite Wikipedia is very useful, it's not the perfect encyclopedia and we have to be careful with some contents we can find in this website. People should not trust blindly and they should keep their critical mind.
