Why do you think people use Wikipedia?
Society is in a state of flux in this information age. As a result, people want to get more information quickly and accurately. After a while it can be an old story. It is Wikipedia that can get information more precisely and quickly.
Wikipedia is like a marathon when someone edits a document, while others fix a mistake or make up for a deficiency. All users produce a credible encyclopedia through cross-testing. And since it is an encyclopedia used by people all over the world, you can get a variety of information.
Why do others write for it?
The first is that Wikipedia is a place where anyone can write without restriction. Thus, if someone with no professional knowledge writes, false information may rise. Sometimes they write to modify the information.
The second is that everyone in the world can see it. Feedback will come from so many different countries and will be able to promote the information you want to know.
Third, there are many interesting topics. They excite curiosity and help find more information.

ReplyDeleteI agree with your idea that modern society is the flow of the information. In this light, I think it is important to distinguish the right information.
ReplyDeleteAlso, because the Wikipedia has no restriction as you said, I believe that it is the best condition to improve collective intelligence.
