W2. My first edits.
The first edit I made in Wikipedia this semester is about Homi. I wrote about 'Homi' last semester, and went to check the article. Another person edited the article of 'Homi', and he deleted the link that I linked to Korea Wikipedia. So I added it again. Because I wanted to make it easier for anyone interested in Korea to go to Korea Wikipedia by click on the link. There are lot of articles in Wikipedia and there are many good articles among them. But even if it is a little short, I am more attached to my articles and I did not want to miss the trivial part. So, I edited Homi first.
The first edit except 'Homi' is for 'Sikhye'. 'Sikhye' is my favorite Korean traditional drink. I searched for it in English Wikipedia and wondered how it came out. After editing Sikhye, I searched Korean related words. I also searched one article and ran the related link to another article. I filled in missing parts from Korean articles and corrected the wrong parts. I thought it would be easy to correct the word or sentence, but it was difficult to translate words that are not in English or difficult to express.
I was surprised that there was a lot of information about Korea in Wikipedia than I thought. Some of them contained much more detail than the articles in Korean Wikipedia. (ex. 쌈/Ssam) Many articles about Korea was registered in Wikipedia in several languages, and I was proud of it. But it was a pity that there was not enough article in Korean Wikipedia. I thought that if it were about Korea, Korean Wikipedia should have the most accurate and detailed information.
After I finished all the edits I needed to make, I decided to post a new article on Korean Wikipedia after this semester. And I will try to make Korean articles in English Wikipedia more accurate. Even in very small edits, I will do what I can for Korea in Wikipedia.
I was also surprised that there were many information and articles about Korea. So It was so hard to make a new article about Korea in last semester. Because there were already what I want to write about. But maybe there are still some Korean topics which have no wikipedia page so I have a sense of duty that I have to write more articles about Korea. Let us join together! :)
