W1. What do I know about Wikipedia and what do I want to learn about it? - Solène Huille

Wikipedia is one of the most famous websites in the world. It represents a real source of information. I think that two words are significant to describe Wikipedia : Community and Free. It means that people can add, remove and change different articles and to collaborate voluntarily. It is a real “community, manned by volunteers, from teenagers to retirees, working to produce understanding.” (Lawrence Lessig)

I think we don’t have to forget that to use Wikipedia, there are some rules or some norms to respect.
Moreover, it is important to pay attention, because sometimes there are mistakes. "Wikipedia is not written by angels, nor does its founder pretend to perfection." (Lawrence Lessig)
It is normal because we are humans, and even if we can think to have the right information, sometimes it can be a mistake or we can make spelling orthograph errors.
One example I can add is an experience I had many years ago. I was in high school and one of my teachers asked us to research for the next day, and he changed one date on the relevant Wikipedia page. The result is that half of student had the wrong information. It was to show us and to teach us to have different sources and not to be focused only in one website.

I want to learn about Wikipedia how to reduce these mistakes and how to make some interesting edits. Indeed, I believe that some pages are very well completed. The question I have is how can I improve more and more these kinds of pages?
“The perfect is the enemy of the good”. Is it always good to want to add more?
