W10. What would make writing on Wikipedia easier for me? - Sun Bo Sim
1. Summary
I think there are two major things that make it easier for me to
write on Wikipedia. The first is my background knowledge that I already know. Especially
because the subject I chose in the weekly edits is related to what I already
know. Because I deal with what I know, I feel confident in writing, so I can
write more detailed and descriptive articles so that I can make quality
articles in Wikipedia. In addition, it
seemed similar to me, not only to me but also to others. I had seen a page
showing the most editors in Wikipedia, where I checked the contributions of
some editors and found that they were dealing with a lot of articles in a
certain area that they knew well.
The second is about what I want to know. When I write about what I
want to know, I will also devote my sincerity to the article and make a lot of
effort to get accurate information. Typically, I think that the reference used
for writing shows the completeness and enthusiasm for the article. I search the
news to get information about what I want to know, and I also look at various
professional sites. The more references you find, the more reliable the
information is, which is a well-written Wikipedia article.
2. Interesting Point
The interesting part is that by using
Wikipedia alone, I can make all of the things I mentioned. As you learned in
class, Wikipedia has a page that lists incomplete articles that are called
"cleanup listing" and require modification or require a lot of
information. I think this is the advantage of cleanup listing that I can find
out about the fact that I did not know through this, find out about the
concept, write a good article, and find out the lack of articles that I know.
3. Discussion Point
I think you are just looking at the positive side of Wikipedia. I wrote about self-quotes of Wikipedia users. Of course, you are not wrong. I just wanted to say that there is also a negative part.
