W4. Discuss Reagle's Chapters 1-2 -HanBin Bae

1. Summary

It is a story about introducing and comparing Wikipedia, starting with history. Wikipedia has a special vision for access and openness. Wikipedia is based on online wikis and it is easy to edit pages. There is value in the techniques associated with the accessibility of the information required to create a gastric light. And in order to understand Wikipedia, you have to know its history. Along the way, characters such as nupedia .let explain Wikipida.

2. Interesting point

It is said that the information taxonomy that Oatlett described about 100 years ago is now in its most similar form to Wikipedia, and it could be its origin. It is surprising that information has affected the present in this ever-changing society more than 100 years ago. The bottom line is that Optlet's taxonomy is now similar to Wikipedia's taxonomy and credo.

3. discussion point

The most interesting aspect of Wikipedia is its editing function. Even in the initial best Web browser, major features were not implemented for editing webpages. So why is it that the editing is a great feature of Wikipedia? I think that sharing and sharing of self-verification functions and knowledge is naturally guaranteed. And since there is no hierarchical order between equal layers and central control is impossible, I think it is great that certain items are created in a democratic way based on horizontal relations.

Comments

  1. I think the biggest advantage of Wikipedia is web page editing. Because existing pages were something that a particular administrator could own. But in Wikipedia all are managers and editors. It is a democratic space because it can form a horizontal relationship in which anyone can participate even if it is not professional. But there are some things to be careful about. In this book, the proportion of people who participate in actual editing is a few editors. We must think critically about the editing of these people. It is possible to accept false information and to think biasedly.
