W13. Can Wikipedia disappear? -Cho jiwon

Wikipedia will not disappear. It would be due to the limitations of Wikipedia that Wikipedia is going to disappear. Wikipedia is a representative example of collective intelligence. That is why the authors' expertise is likely to fall. Also, because of the lack of intellectuals contributing to Wikipedia recently, their expertise is getting worse. For example, in the case of the Korean wiki, there are many articles that do not have a proper reference to the contents of the article.

Despite these limitations, Wikipedia does not disappear because Wikipedia is not a simple dictionary. Articles listed on Wikipedia have their own unique names. Its uniqueness is called culture in other words. If you write a traditional article that only Korean people can know in the Korean Wiki, it already has a Korean culture. These contents cannot be used if they have not experienced and experienced the culture of the country directly. This is true of other countries.

Of course, there are a lot of things that need to be fixed in order for Wikipedia to stay longer. But the specificity of Wikipedia mentioned above is the reason why Wikipedia does not disappear.
