1. summary
Wikipedia is a kind of open content community. In such open content, fraud, transparency, freedom of speech, public safety and so on must be balanced. To balance this, it is easy to undermine the essence of open communities. It is difficult to balance openness and closeness. There are various attempts in Wikipedia. To maintain transparency, make an article public discussion. Wikipedia also does not add unnecessary steps for openness. There is also wikichix, a closed space against dictatorial authority. However, there is a problem of openness in the contents of such Wikipedia. There is a problem of closure. Appropriate control is also required for proper control. Wikipedia is trying to balance it. We are currently experiencing many trials and errors, but I think it is a process for becoming a truly open community.
 
2. Interesting point
I think the most important thing in the open community is participation and openness. This means freedom. Freedom includes accountability. Freedom can be indulgence. The presence of an open community is also like freedom. The open community also needs appropriate controls and rules. But it's hard to keep up. That's why I think we need the power of so many people. But what is the appropriate level of control? As I read this chapter, I learned that proper level of control is necessary. At present, Wikipedia seems to be fighting with the right level of control. This will be an important factor in the life and death of Wikipedia. This is a story about the nature of open communities. I think the essence of the open community is very important now because not everyone thinks the same.
 
3. Discussion Point
What is proper control? Will Anomi come if proper control does not exist? The essence of Wikipedia is the open community. Early Wikipedia did not worry about proper control. A small number of people have been careful to keep the rules. However, as the number of people increased, proper control became necessary. But such control is causing a lot of controversy. This control will be an important factor in determining the life and death of Wikipedia. In this regard, Internet real-name system is similar. Will it need to be controlled like the Internet real name system? I want to hear your thoughts.

    Proper control means that whomever is willing to take damage, seeking public interest, and avoiding congestion and correcting the order. Without this control, Wikipedia will not be able to catch up with the information, and the site will soon be destroyed. The world is the same. Everyone lives in proper control. I have been educated since I was a child. Examples include line-fitting, ordering, and right-walks. In real life, proper control is important, and the Internet is no exception.

W5. Can we trust Wikipedia? Yun-Jin Kim

Then I want to ask. Can we trust News? I think Wikipedia is based on sources. Every time we edit on Wikipedia we need the sources. If we don’t put sources, the information we wrote would be deleted.   So I think asking ‘How can we trust Wikipedia’ is kind of similar to ‘How can we trust News’. I know there could be subjective opinion on Wikipedia. If the topic is unpopular, the public opinion doesn’t focus, there’s could be no feedback and that makes Wiki subjective. for this reason, we have to think before we choose the topic in Wiki. If the topic isn’t famous enough and have no sources, we should think this information isn’t sure enough. but if the topic has clear sources we can have a trust on that information. I think it is not important to ask, ‘is the Wikipedia trustful’. It is important to ask ‘is this information on Wikipedia has a exact source?’.
