W6. How important is it to be civil online on the Internet? - Sujin Park

Summary

In Wikipedia, there is so many people who want to get some information or make a new one or etc. There is no border, country, law, skin color. There is only some rule to make Wikipedia efficient.  All of humans in Wikipedia interact by doing edit, talk, suggest. So it is one of collaboration.

Interesting Point

So I think the most important thing in Wikipedia is being civil. Wikipedia is one world in internet. We should follow rules, manners, cultures because you are not alone.
Our offline world is not perfect. Also Wikipedia is. So we should make Wikipedia clean and civilize to keep this world.

Discussion point
So do you think Wikipedia have some administrator to keep the world? I think they are. But maybe someone doesn't.

Comments

  1. Wikipedia is an incomplete encyclopedia. In addition to Wikipedia, there is no perfect page online. There is only one good page with a lot of feedback. Citizens are needed for this feedback. And the role of citizens is very important. Citizens can gather in an online space to demonstrate collective intelligence and manage information. If they do not function properly, today's Wikipedia will be just a notepad.
