W6. How important is it to be civil online on the Internet? - Sun Bo Sim
1. Summary
Citizens on the Internet are important
because I think the Internet is just another place to enjoy the rights and
think of it as an extension of the real world.
I think we should look at the meaning of
citizen before we can understand citizen's role on internet.
Citizen's dictionary meaning is a citizen
of the city and country, who has rights and duties as the subject of power
generation, and who voluntarily and personally participates in public policy
decisions. I think this world has developed because citizens have been trying
to pursue their rights.
I think the Internet is the same. Various
rights exist on the Internet and citizens can pursue their rights. The Internet
also can develop because it pursues its rights. I believe that the right of
citizens on the Internet to access them is quite consistent with the three
basic elements of Web 2.0. The basic three elements are open, participation,
and sharing. I think that the role of citizens in the Internet is
important because it is a place to pursue the right to enjoy, and I believe
that the development of the Internet will lead to the development of the world
soon.
2. Interesting Point
There was something interesting about thinking about citizens
on the internet. Citizens have both rights and duties. I can find rights on the
internet, but I can not find citizens’ duties at all. It is interesting to note
that there is no coercion on the Internet, although it may be natural in some
ways.
3. Discussion Point
I think freedom of expression exists on the Internet. If
someone writes on the Internet to pursue their own freedom of expression
violates the privacy of others, we should discuss how to solve the problem.
That's right. There is freedom of expression on the Internet. However, users should not violate other people's privacy. In addition, users should not damage others by hiding the trait of anonymity.
