W6. How important is it to be civil online on the Internet? - HanBin Bae

Nowadays, it seems more appropriate to use the Internet in daily life than to use the Internet for leisure purposes. There is not a house without a computer or a laptop, and it is the age when the Internet can be used by a cell phone.

 As a result, more people will be able to see the Internet than in TV or newspapers in any field.
I think the most powerful and scary thing is word of mouth.

 But now I think it is not word of mouth, but internet rumor. If a little bit of bad news spreads on the Internet, it will get caught in an instant.

For example, even if only a few flaws are seen, the protests will spread on the homepage of the company, the stock price will fall, and the attention will be different in the neighboring companies.

As such, the role of citizens on the Internet seems to be very important. Comments, blogs, sites, SNS and so on. I think that it is related to citizen and the Internet that the claim can gather to individual person or group.

    I agree with your idea that the "Internet rumor " is a significant problem in modern society.
    Compare to the past society, Internet is moving rumors more quickly. For these reasons, the role of 'Internet citizen' is became more and more important. I think it is a good idea to teach people about the right use of the Internet and being a ethical Internet citizen.

    Internet world is too big to take control by a few people now. There are many administrator in many website but it doesn't help us perfectly. So first we need is being civil. Maybe the Internet real-name system can be a solution. but it's too dangerous. What kind of things will we do?

W5. Can we trust Wikipedia? Yun-Jin Kim

Then I want to ask. Can we trust News? I think Wikipedia is based on sources. Every time we edit on Wikipedia we need the sources. If we don’t put sources, the information we wrote would be deleted.   So I think asking ‘How can we trust Wikipedia’ is kind of similar to ‘How can we trust News’. I know there could be subjective opinion on Wikipedia. If the topic is unpopular, the public opinion doesn’t focus, there’s could be no feedback and that makes Wiki subjective. for this reason, we have to think before we choose the topic in Wiki. If the topic isn’t famous enough and have no sources, we should think this information isn’t sure enough. but if the topic has clear sources we can have a trust on that information. I think it is not important to ask, ‘is the Wikipedia trustful’. It is important to ask ‘is this information on Wikipedia has a exact source?’.
