Summary

We currently live in the world connected by the internet. As the internet has been evolving, we can feely interact, discuss , express own opinion in it. However, this kind of participation in the internet could be much more violent and unreasonable because of anonymity. So the discussion about the online manner has been progressing. For example, there is a opinion that people should use their real name in the internet. However, some people are saying that not guaranteeing Anonymity in the internet is the invasion of privacy. And there are also some websites that have their own rule and the users in there should follow those rules if they would keep participating in there.

Violence in the internet is getting worse these days. Different from the real world, people hurt each other and even do  character blasphemy much easier because they don't face directly. To solve this problem, some insist that we should make laws about using real name in the in the internet. However i think if they did that, the participation rate in today would be decreasing, and it would be also invasion of privacy and Personal Information extrusion would be done much easier than before. So I think anonymity should keep being guaranteed. In addition, like Wikipedia, every website should build difficult rules and steps and civil online should be dealt in more seriously in ragular education curriculums

W5. Can we trust Wikipedia? Yun-Jin Kim

Then I want to ask. Can we trust News? I think Wikipedia is based on sources. Every time we edit on Wikipedia we need the sources. If we don’t put sources, the information we wrote would be deleted.   So I think asking ‘How can we trust Wikipedia’ is kind of similar to ‘How can we trust News’. I know there could be subjective opinion on Wikipedia. If the topic is unpopular, the public opinion doesn’t focus, there’s could be no feedback and that makes Wiki subjective. for this reason, we have to think before we choose the topic in Wiki. If the topic isn’t famous enough and have no sources, we should think this information isn’t sure enough. but if the topic has clear sources we can have a trust on that information. I think it is not important to ask, ‘is the Wikipedia trustful’. It is important to ask ‘is this information on Wikipedia has a exact source?’.
