What is the benefit for Korean people if there are more English articles about Korea


For Korean is really easy to be informed about South Korea because they already have Naver, so they don’t need Wikipedia. But for foreigners like me, Wikipedia is really important because the first thing I have done before choosing South Korea for my exchange was to look on Wikipedia if I can get any information about the country that could help me choose or be more attract by the country, but I did not really found what I want.
So, in my opinion if they are more English articles about Korea it will help foreigners to know more about the country. It will developed their knowledge about the culture, the economy, the personalities of the country and it can be a good point for the tourism.
It will also help Korean people who lived outside of the country to make their country know with more verified sources. For example if a university want to have a course of Korean culture or Korean economy in another country, the fact that on Wikipedia we can find many articles about South Korea in English will help the students a lot.
And also for people who are just curious about the country it will help them more to get to know South Korea without coming in the country to really know and appreciate it.

W5. Can we trust Wikipedia? Yun-Jin Kim

Then I want to ask. Can we trust News? I think Wikipedia is based on sources. Every time we edit on Wikipedia we need the sources. If we don’t put sources, the information we wrote would be deleted.   So I think asking ‘How can we trust Wikipedia’ is kind of similar to ‘How can we trust News’. I know there could be subjective opinion on Wikipedia. If the topic is unpopular, the public opinion doesn’t focus, there’s could be no feedback and that makes Wiki subjective. for this reason, we have to think before we choose the topic in Wiki. If the topic isn’t famous enough and have no sources, we should think this information isn’t sure enough. but if the topic has clear sources we can have a trust on that information. I think it is not important to ask, ‘is the Wikipedia trustful’. It is important to ask ‘is this information on Wikipedia has a exact source?’.
