W3 . Why do you think people use Wikipedia? Why do others write for it? - Jongchan kim
1. Summary
Last class, we learned about the relationship between Internet 2.0 and Wikipedia.
Internet 2.0 means a user-centric Internet environment in which anyone can produce and share data on the Internet. In the 21st century, this Internet 2.0 environment created the era of two-way information, not one way of sending information. With the development of Internet 2.0, we are able to use the platform Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a one-way information transmission like Internet 2.0 does, but a platform that users modify, add, and interact with. According to Wikipedia's first developer, it features to modify using only one browser and it is open to all of Wikipedia's users, to tightly link to multiple pages, to participate in more comfortable because of being less professional. In addition, there are many other features of Wikipedia, such as vandalism and spam.
2. Interesting point
First, I was surprised at the importance of two-way information.
3. discussion point
I think the reason why people use Wikipedia is because of its enjoyment and fulfillment. Although not a professional, it is a great pleasure to share knowledge with people. It is also seen as a boast that seems to be linked to people's fundamental desires. After all, my opinion is that through the Internet 2.0, Wikipedia, people engage in it because it is a place where people can realize their basic self-development needs. It may be extreme, but my opinion is this. What's your opinion? The need to show off? Or any other reason? I'd like to hear your opinion.
You had a great idea. I agree with you. And I think Wikipedia has a lot of interesting topics. It is also used all over the world so that it can quickly convey a variety of feedback and information you want to share. And since it is now the most used encyclopedia, I think many people can share information.
