W3. Why do you think people use Wikipedia? Why others write for it? Yun-Jin Kim
Wikipedia is open to the whole world. That’s
mean it includes whole world information. It’s bigger than encyclopedia. Since
it is open to everyone, it’s easy to understand. Since everyone can edit
information on Wikipedia they use normal, frequently used words on Wikipedia.
That makes Wikipedia easy to understand. And that makes people visit Wikipedia
more and more.
I think human being want to tell other
about the information they know. I usually use Facebook and I usually ‘share’
the useful or funny or sad posts. I want to share to my friend what I saw, what
I felt. It’s like gathering together. Wikipedia is same as Facebook. It’s a
community. This characteristic makes people share their information to others.
I think it is very important to understand that Wikipedia is a real community and it is probably its strength. You can share your knowledge and what you like with other people from all over the world, and you can also ask questions, so it is very interactive.
ReplyDeleteI agree that there are features people want to share. Wikipedia is not just a medium but a community is what drives people. So like the topic of 'Extra posting', we can be the main engine of information production just by using Wikipedia or sharing and posting like you
