W3. Why do you think people use Wikipedia? Why do others write for it? - Seron Kim
People have a desire to know about information they don't know. Of course, people can find things they don't know through web surfing. However, Wikipedia does show a lot of information organized in a systematic way when you search for keywords for information you don't know. And other relevant information may be obtained from the hyperlink. Wikipedia also has the advantage of ' collective intelligence ' because it is easily edited by anyone. Therefore, many people all over the world use Wikipedia because it can save time and is that convenient.
As mentioned above, anyone can easily edit Wikipedia. In fact, many people add and modify the information in Wikipedia. Why is that? I think it's because people want to share what they know with others. People may also edit Wikipedia because of the pleasure and fulfillment they felt would help others.
However, the fact that anyone can edit Wikipedia easily can also be a drawback. Most people will add precise information to Wikipedia and revise it. However, some people may add wrong information to Wikipedia, whether or not they have a bad intention. And when the wrong information spreads, it will definitely cause problems. We need to think about it and debate about it.
