Introduction
I first used Wikipedia for reference. I have added information to Wikipedia since my last class of Globalization and sociology. Frankly it was very difficult to add information. Wikipedia should post objective data. Because it has the form of an encyclopedia. So I used information such as news articles and interviews. So I would like to edit or modify Wikipedia's information.
1. Summary
My big theme on Wikipedia this time is about promoting Korea. Then add the missing information. I will also edit more or create a new page. First, I added information about the area where I live (Daejeon). Specifically, they examined the mountain in Daejeon. And I added deficient information to the tourism category. As an objective data, I referred to recent news articles and interviews. In addition to tourist attractions in Daejeon, I also investigated famous Korean characters.I especially like playing StarCraft games, so I added information about professional gamers. I have compiled information such as these award winning career. Next, I found out about soccer player because I love soccer. I researched information on Korean soccer players in the EPL. I also investigated the people who were a broadcaster and once a famous soccer player. In addition, I have revised the information of famous K-pop singers in Korea. I have compiled their profiles, their awards, their activities, etc. So, I hope people around the world who use Wikipedia can read the information that informs Korea and search Korea at least once.
2. Interesting Points
Wikipedia can speak many different languages. There are also Korean, English, Wikipedia, and French Wikipedia. It was interesting to know that many people took part in one place, although they were all in a different language. Thankfully, there was more information about Korea than I thought. The area was well organized as well as the people. I could see many people involved in modifying information. There was a perfect page from life to the award. As an objective example, many editors participated when I investigated about KaKao bank last year. Not only I but also the managers added, organized, and deleted information. So a great bank page was created. But I found some problems.
First, there was a variety of information but no objective information. There were some rather subjective opinions. Many people can receive false information as if it were true. So I have corrected these errors. I looked for objective links and modified them myself.
Second, There was information in the Korean Wikipedia, but there was no information in the English Wikipedia. In addition, there was no information in translation. So I took turns modifying Wikipedia. Of course, many people may not know if they are involved. It is because I can not know about the culture of the country. Complementing these points would be a great information-sharing space.
Lastly, the manager deletes the article because it sounds like a promotional note. We may add information, but the manager will erase it all. I would like the manager to let me know what changes to make before deleting it.
3. Discussion point
There is a lot of information in Wikipedia. How can we inform many people who edit Wikipedia about Korea?
And people refer to Wikipedia for information. So how can we share a link to Wikipedia so that many people can edit and browse?
