1. Summary and my opinion
Wikipedia is a kind of Internet encyclopedia that is created with the freedom of participation from all around the world. Wikipedia is a prime example of collective intelligence. The result that many people, such as individuals or organizations, cooperate with each other and complete a single theme through competition is called collective intelligence. The uncertainty that individuals have can be corrected and compensated by multiple others. In fact, for me Wikipedia has known about since last year, but Naver is more famous in Korea. However, many people have continuously encountered and participated in various topics through hyper-links and new topics of today in Wikipedia, making collective intelligence stronger. Of course, it is impossible to judge that Wikipedia articles are unconditionally perfect, but it can be supplemented in the same way as in debates.
2. Intersting Point
Reading this week’s article, I came to think deeply about the relationship between ethnography and Wikipedia. Ethnography is the study of various phenomena in human society and culture. When I join Wikipedia, I think that I should participate in it carefully after recognizing and observing other cultures accurately.
3. Discussion Point
What I want to discuss is a policy that requires excessive sources of Wikipedia. Of course, I agree to fill Wikipedia with knowledge and information from the right source, but I find that the emphasis on credibility so much that we miss out on more diverse, broader aspects of discussion. What do students think about this?
I read it well. These days, Wikipedia has become a hot topic through hyper-links
ReplyDeleteI totally agree that a wide range of topics are being discussed. I also agree that the article sometimes is not perfect in Wikipedia, and yet it produces a lot of debate. As a matter of discussion point, the excessive sources may suggest reducing the Atticle of Wikipedia, but the intellectual property rights are likely to be the most basic duty of the document, and therefore should be subject to strict application.
