W1. What do I know about Wikipedia and what do I want to learn about it? - Jong chan, Kim

Wikipedia is online encyclopedia. This is the largest and most popular reference work on the internet. Wikipedia has a vision. Wikipedia’s vision is to create places every single human being can freely share in sum of all knowledge. Everyone can write and edit Wikipedia. But Wikipedia have rules. For examples, writers have neutral point of view, writers must have respectful and civil manners, writers shouldn’t plagiarize. If writers violate this rules repeatedly, writers might be blocked from editing Wikipedia.

Before the first class and reading articles, i don't know the Wikipedia. if i do not know, i always search the website and dictionary. Since I learned the existence of Wikipedia and reading this article, I usually search the Wikipedia. Before I knew Wikipedia, I can’t believe that the existence of collective intelligence is possible. But it is possible in the real world. So I want to see and learn the reason about continuous the collective intelligence.

I think Wikipedia is a living collective intelligence. Before you know this contents, Did you think collective intelligence was possible? I thought it was impossible because I saw that many people’s meeting always cause arguments and fighting. So What do you think of it? I want to know our class opinions

  1. I read your post well. Collective intelligence has become more luminous and more likely as the Internet becomes popular. I think that collective intelligence is the same as a debate as a process in which people work together to solve common problems. I think Wikipedia shows us making up, tuning, and completing one topic while sharing and debating each other.
