What do I know about Wikipedia and what do I want to learn about it?

Wikipedia, I know, is the role of the platform to share the knowledge of people around the world. In Wikipedia, we can create accurate knowledge as we continue to share knowledge and continue to modify it. And I think this process can be called collective intelligence. Another important feature of Wikipedia is its free encyclopedia, which is its slogan. I have looked into the birth of Wikipedia last semester through my homework. Jimmy Wales, the founder, entered the age of Web 2.0 and sought information equality.
What do I want to learn about Wikipedia is how shared knowledge can be edited out and become an accurate articles. Last semester I make an article on Wikipedia and I could see that my published photos and contents were changing through other users editing. There are also reasons why I could not make easy use of Wikipedia but I could not confirm why my article was edited and I could only check articles that were edited. So I want to check out the editing process through this semester.

Interesting point is that Wikipedia has a community where people can exchange opinions and debate for the right editing. I think this community is a part of the solution to what I mentioned earlier. It was interesting to keep sending and receiving opinions across the community when articles were posted or edited in real time.

I think it is necessary to discuss the indiscriminate and malicious editing of articles called vandalism. This act is disturbing Wikipedia's goal. I realize that we are dealing with this problem partly through the community, but I think it is not perfect. We must look for ways to correct the ambiguity that may arise between free and indiscriminate editing.

  1. I think what you say is vandalism. The Korean Wikipedia does not allow advertisements to be inserted into a document, to partially or wholly delete content for any reason, to abuse or mislead, to deliberately distort content, to display objectionable images, Vandalism is the act of writing slanderous writings. I think this is unavoidable due to the nature of the Wikipedia open to everyone. Therefore, more people will have to observe or observe the obligation to describe each person based on neutral position and truth.

    1. Thank you for telling me your opinion. In addition to those you mentioned, I think monitoring with a little bit of regulation needs to prevent vandalism
