W2. My first edits. Describe why you made them. - Ji Won-Min

1)     Summary
My first edit is ‘Dreaming Tree (hereinafter referred to as ‘ggumna’)’. ‘Ggumna’ is a Hue cafe-a youth cultural space-operated by Geumcheon-gu Office. It is operated as a job simulation center in conjunction with the Jinro Vocational Experience Center. The management group for ‘ggumna’ will consist of teenagers from third grade of middle school through high school.

2)     Interesting point
As Geumcheon-gu, I used ' ggumna ' several times. Four years ago, I even served as a mentor for a junior high school student here. Still, I do not realize that teenage operations were operating in a wide range of fields. I was surprised that all tasks at the cafe, including management of the operations such as income and spending at the cafe, media related activities, and planning for the program, were entrusted to the teenage operations team. It showed the strong trust relationship between Geumcheon-gu and youth in its jurisdiction.
3)     Discussion point
Korea has been constantly criticized for its lack of cultural space for teenagers. In that context, it can be assessed that Geumcheon-gu's 'ggumna ' is at the forefront of the advancement of youth cultural space. What else can be done to encourage teenagers to enjoy culture?

  1. In order for young people to enjoy culture, we must first respect respect for youth culture. Many older generations now tend to think that youth culture is just a rebellious culture of the past. I think that these early generations should change their minds first so that the youth culture can be developed in their own way.

  2. In fact, it appears that the places where teenagers gather among themselves are limited to PC rooms or karaoke rooms. So this ggumna is likely to be one of the great alternatives. I personally think it is also necessary to encourage teenagers to create a more state-oriented lounge or space just for themselves because they spend a lot of time at school or in private academies.
